What Do You Bring to the Table? | Self-Check Point
Our skills are cultivated through every job and experience, and those skills can transfer to your purpose-driven work.
To explore your existing skills, write down five activities that have been a regular part of your day-to-day work life, either currently or in the past. Next to each task, write down a specific skill that has helped you succeed at that task. Here are some examples to get you started:
Making lots of calls communication skills
Giving presentations public speaking
Creating spreadsheets synthesizing new information
Doing research analyzing
Motivating a team leadership skills
Review the list of skills. Do any stand out or surprise you? Are there any secondary or related skills that youâve overlooked and could name? Consider how these skills might be applied to what you need to do to succeed at your dreams. And from now on, be aware of any new skills you are gaining from any job or project. Keep track of your building blocks as you work toward charting your own path.
